Volunteers from the Philadelphia Chapter met many interested people who were attending a joint meeting of the National Council for Geographic Education and the Pennsylvania Geographic Society at the Doubletree hotel in Center City Philadelphia on Thursday, October 17, and Friday, October 18, when Charles Sacavage arranged for the Chapter to have a display table. It was an opportunity for conference attenders from all over the country to become better acquainted with Philadelphia’s connection to the Lewis and Clark expedition and the Chapter’s role in the Bicentennial commemoration.

Volunteers included Elaine and Dick Prestholdt, Marion Rowen, Norma Milner, Pi DiPiazza, Frank and Rose Muhly, Anne Mackintosh, Jim Shaw, and Trudy Reed.
