Wednesday, August 13 Closing Program: Part 2 Music Competition Winner Derrick Chang, the Youth Sinfonia Orchestra, and Keynote Speaker Dayton Duncan

Derrick Chang, who flew from Paris to hear his music performed, waits for the program to begin.

Derrick asked to have his picture taken with Dayton Duncan and his family.

Dayton Duncan delivers the final keynote address, Reflections on Meriwether Lewis: a Country Boy in the Big City, which tied together all the themes of the 2003 Annual Meeting.

 

The Philadelphia Youth Sinfonia Orchestra was directed by Gary White, competition judge.

Katy Hineline, chair of the competition, applauds the composer as he applauds the orchestra.

Gene W Tietz of Toronto, Ontario, came to the program to meet his longtime- friend- through- email for the first time un person.

Derrick learned about the competition on the Chapter's website, which delighted webmaster Anne Mackintosh.
